How to Get Muse to Brief You Every Night

You go to bed not quite sure what tomorrow holds. A dentist appointment? A bill due? The library book? Here is the 5-minute setup that ends that feeling: one short brief, every evening, at a time you choose.

The short answer

Yes, Muse can do this. Connect Google Calendar in Muse, paste the master prompt from the free pack into a fresh chat, and pick the time your brief should arrive. Every evening you get one short message: tomorrow's schedule with times and locations, anything due or overdue, and the reminders you set. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, or deletes anything. Setup takes about 5 minutes.

What you need

That is the whole list. No coding, no third-party tools. Muse reads your calendar directly.

The 5-minute setup

1

Connect Google Calendar

In Muse, connect your Google Calendar by tapping through Google's sign-in and approving access. Include shared or family calendars if you want them in the brief.

2

Choose where it lands

Chat only, or also WhatsApp. You decide during the interview in step 3.

3

Paste the master prompt

Open a fresh chat and paste the master prompt from the free pack. Muse interviews you, builds the briefing, and sends tonight's brief immediately so you can see exactly what you will get each evening.

The master prompt (in the free pack)

The heart of the setup is a single master prompt: the exact instructions your Muse follows to interview you, build the recurring brief, and prove it works on the first run. It covers the sections, the off-limits list, and the hard read-only rule, which is why it lives in the free pack instead of on this page. Every rule in it earned its place in a live setup.

What the prompt covers

  • The outcome: one short brief every evening, at your time, covering tomorrow, due items, and reminders
  • The interview: your time and timezone, which calendars to read, which sections you want, what stays out, and where to deliver it
  • The build: the recurring schedule, the keep-it-short rule, and the one-line rule for empty days
  • The proof: Muse sends tonight's brief immediately, built from your real calendar
  • The troubleshooting scripts: word-for-word what to say when it is too long, misses something, or arrives at the wrong time

What good looks like

Tonight you should get your first brief, built from your real calendar. It looks like this:

Tonight's brief
Tomorrow
9:00 AM: Dentist, Dr. Chen (123 Main St), bring insurance card. 6:30 PM: Dinner with Sam.
Due soon
Library book (Maya), due Monday. Hydro bill, due Wednesday.

Nothing else needs your eyes tonight.

Short enough to read in bed. Complete enough to plan the morning.

The ground rules

  • Read-only, always. The brief never creates, updates, or deletes calendar events or tasks. If something needs action, it flags it and waits for you.
  • One brief, at your time. Silent otherwise.
  • Short by design. Times, places, deadlines. If tomorrow is empty, one line: “Nothing on tomorrow.” No padding.
  • You set the boundaries. The sections and the off-limits list are yours. Topics, calendars, or senders you exclude stay out, no exceptions.

When something goes wrong

Just tell your Muse what happened in plain words. The prompt already knows how to handle the common cases:

SymptomWhat to say
Too longSay “too long.” Muse cuts it to the essentials and can offer a one-line mode.
Missed somethingSay what was missing. Muse adds the source and rebuilds tonight's brief to prove the fix.
Wrong timeConfirm the time and timezone with Muse, then it moves the schedule.
Turn it offSay “turn it off.” Muse pauses or deletes the schedule on your word, no questions.
